John Morris is extremely involved with the Home Builders Association of Louisville (HBAL), serving as the Chairman of the Shelby County Council of HBAL for 2006 and 2007, elected to serve on the Board of Directors of HBAL for 2007 and selected as an alternate National Director to represent the organization at the National Home Builders Association meeting in Washington, DC in June, 2007. John also teaches classes for the HBAL membership, is the Co-Chairman of the Education Committee and serves on the Technology, Tour of New Homes and Sales & Marketing Committees. He is a Registered Builder , having completed the three year program requirements in under one year.
Prior to starting Kentucky Quality Homes, John Morris was a senior Corporate Accounts Manager and Managing Consultant for the Microsoft Corporation. As a Consultant John was responsible for designing, building and managing large enterprise software solutions for numerous Fortune 500 companies. He also served on the Master Trainer Council for the Microsoft’s Project Management framework. He has brought this deep project management background to his homebuilding business, which helps to keep every project on budget, on or ahead of schedule and built accurately to his very high quality standards.
Prior to these roles at Microsoft, John’s career included time at Vanderbilt University in the Peabody College PhD program and a tour in the U.S. Air Force during the Desert Storm era.
John’s professional experiences have uniquely prepared him for success in the challenging and unpredictable homebuilding market.
Melissa Morris is also involved with the HBAL organization as a charter Affiliate Member and joins John in teaching sales & marketing for the membership, and participating in committee work. Melissa has focused on the Realtor side of the business, as both she and John have their Real Estate licenses. She is presently working on completion of her Real Estate Broker license.
Melissa brings a creative and critical eye to the homebuilding process. She has an innate ability to listen to your wants and needs and turn them into the details of your dream home. Melissa focuses on all parts of the design and details of the build process, and will work with you to coordinate all of the interior and exterior design elements to bring your vision into reality.
Prior to starting Kentucky Quality Homes, Melissa Morris had 10 years of experience in sales in the technology industry. Her most recent role and responsibilities included Enterprise Account Manager with Sagestone Consulting based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Sagestone designed, built, and installed custom software solutions for small, medium, and enterprise level accounts. Melissa has a successful history of representing new companies in a new market and helping turn their visions into solutions. Melissa completed her MBA in May 2005 with a focus in Finance.
Her extensive experience and educational training have uniquely prepared her to successfully turn your vision into your dream home as she helped turn multiple companies’ business visions into reality in her previous career.
